I haven’t weighed 74 pounds since grammar school. I’m not quite sure why most people find it necessary to tell me I’m not 74 pounds the first time they see something with my company’s name on it. My boutique agency needed a clever name and that’s what it got! After all, why would anyone hire a marketing specialist who couldn’t even brand herself!

That being said, let me introduce myself. My name is Lisa B. Spiritus. The Business Insider says “if you want people to think you’re an intellectual, use your middle name;” the New York Times says “the anti-middle-initial bandwagon has gained momentum.” Regardless of either’s opposing positions on the topic, I will continue to use mine now and even after I’m married (though no one has proposed, yet). If you haven’t figured it out by now, let me start with the obvious: my initials are the acronym for pounds. And, in the spirit of transparency, I was born in 1974.
There you have it: 74 POUNDS.
